New Music From Mos Def [Video]

Mos Def performed this new track on Fuel TV’s Daily Habit recently. As of right now it's called "World Premiere". I can't wait for the CDQ of this track and his new project on G.O.O.D. Music.

Happy Black History Month

Let's try to make this one of the best BHM ever. Learn about people and places that you don't normally hear or see much about. Then take time out to then teach others what you have learned. Knowledge of self is priceless. There is still so much to be learned and discovered about people of color all over the globe not just here in America.

"At exactly which point do you start to realize

That life without knowledge is, death in disguise?" - Talib Kweli

Documentary of Fela Kuti: Music Is the Weapon [Video]

This documentary which profiles the life of composer, Afro-beat pioneer, and human rights activist Fela Kuti was shown at The National Museum of African Art this past Saturday. The film is a mixture of footage from Fela performing as well as glimpses of his life and interviews. The piece is a little under a hour and will be well worth your time.

Peace and ENJOY!!!!!

"This that black Elohim Anunnaki rap"

Since I'm not posting as much during this transition period, I thought I would give yall the a compilation of the music that is keeping me going with the progression of  YEBies. This was also put together because I quote this guy's music everyday on Twitter so I thought it would only be fair to give all of my followers a great point of reference for my daily 140's. Download and enjoy. THIS is GOD HOP....

"Build a home, teach a class, start a revolution. Free the mind, heal the body, talkin' evolution" -Just Begun

"Stress- we mastered that, Death – we laugh at that" - A Prayer for Mike Vick & T.I.

"I got a lot of family, you got a lot of fans.

That's why the people got my back like the Verizon man.

I play the back and fade to black and then devise a plan." - Exhibit C

Mos Def: Ecstatic Moments (Photo Exhibition) In L.A.

There’s a photo exhibition that started yesterday at the HVW8 Art & Design Gallery in L.A. called “Mos Def: Ecstatic Moments.” It will showcase rare exclusives images of Mos Def captured by photographer/filmmaker Cognito over the two year span it took to complete The Ecstatic, of either behind the scenes moments or from tour dates around the world.

The show will only last one week, so if you’re in or around Los Angeles, make the trip. If you miss it, the pics will be compiled into a book. Also, there’s an exclusive tee that they’re selling at Union LA for the event (as well as on their online store.)
